We have released a beta version of Screensaver Operations for testing. While this beta has squashed a couple minor bugs, the release is primarily marked by the ability to natively run on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows as well as some feature requests.
This is a BETA release that includes the latest features. While we attempt to provide a fully functional program, this release may have bugs. The beta also does not come with an MSI installer nor an up-to-date README file. The current stable release is always available here.
-Fixed incorrect label description for some actions when custom text is set.
-Same SCR runs both 32-bit & 64-bit natively! This means two things:
-----1.) To install you need to place "Screensaver Operations.scr" in "C:\Windows\System32" for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. With previous versions when running on 64-bit systems you would need to install the screensaver to "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" since it was only a 32-bit (x86) executable.
-----2.) There's no longer the Wow6432node registry mess on 64-bit systems and you can put settings at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GrimAdmin.com\Screensaver Operations" for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Don't worry: it will still pull settings from the Wow6432node registry key for backwards compatibility if you don't have settings at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GrimAdmin.com\Screensaver Operations".
-Added: HideActionButton (REG_DWORD) registry value to optionally remove the "[Action] Now" button from the dialog window. This can also be configured through the configuration window.
-----Format: integer (0=disabled; 1=enabled; default=0)
-Added custom message variables:
----- %username% -> Shows currently logged on user's username
----- %user_domain_name% -> Shows current user's domain name
----- %machine_name% -> Shows current computer name
UPDATE: Beta version is no longer available as the official release of version 1.4 is now available. The current stable release is always available here.
